RTI movement launched at Chang Gate, Beawar. Slogan: “जानने का अधिकार — जीने का अधिकार”.
Government passes “Freedom of Information Act,” but it remains non-operational at the time.
October 12: RTI Act comes into force. MKSS recognized as a key architect of India’s transparency law.
Social Audits institutionalized. MKSS leads accountability work in Rajsamand & Ajmer districts.
MKSS core members contribute to drafting, pushing for grievance redress and whistleblower protection.
MKSS leads campaigns for Right to Food and advocates for corruption-free PDS.
RTI Museum established in Narbad Khera. Marked 20 years of the historic RTI Act.
