Fundraising for the Pension Parishad Dharna in Delhi on March 4th-8th 2013
The upcoming Pension Parishad Dharna in Delhi from 4th-8th March 2013 will see nearly 25,000 participants from different parts of the country. An important aspect of the Dharna is who funds this campaign and how.
The method adopted by the MKSS to raise funds for the 500 participants from Rajasthan is as follows:
Number of participants from Rajasthan by MKSS 500
Cost of travel to/fro Delhi per participant Rs. 500
Contribution by the participant who will travel to Delhi Rs. 100
Supporting contributions by friends/villagers of the participant Rs. 20 each

Thus behind every person who travels to Delhi, 20 people from his/her villager contribute Rs. 20 to generate Rs. 400 torwards the travel cost of that person. The participant who travels himself will pay Rs. 100. In this way, Rs. 500 is raised for every person who will participate in the upcoming Pension Parishad Dharna in Delhi.
Thus the 500 participants represent the support of 10,000 villagers who have sponsored them to Delhi.
